Are you inspired? Inspired, that is such a fun word, to have the spirit in you. I am always looking for inspiration. I am always looking for inspiration of what we could be doing to draw people into the parish, what we could be doing to grow our faith as a parish. I am always looking for inspiration for my homilies and what I need to talk about with the parish. I am looking for inspiration about what to talk about right now. I am always looking at what if. What if we do it this way or what if we do it that way? I am constantly seeking counsel to get other people’s ideas. Sometimes it strikes like the blue. It’s fun when that happens, but that is not often. A lot of times, it’s just plugging away at it.

Today we celebrate Pentecost. The readings talk about how the Spirit came upon the disciples. These were truly inspired people. They went out and risked their lives. They always sought where the Spirit was leading them. They always worked together. Do we seek to be inspired? Do we seek to be inspired in our work? Do we seek to be inspired in our relationships? Do we seek to be inspired in our decisions? The Holy Spirit is at work right now. What might the Spirit be guiding you to do?

God bless,

Fr. Chris
