In the Gospel Jesus says, “everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father.” Are you with me or are you against me? I have to admit that these are tough times. I really find myself on the cross. I really support the police officers and I really support the peaceful protesters. Many people see this as an either or situation. Either you support the police or you support the protesters. I support the police and know there are many good police officers and at the same time I support the peaceful protesters who protest against the racism that does exist in our country and that there needs to be reform. I guess this leaves me on the cross as some people won’t like me on either side. Following Christ leads us to places like this. It doesn’t matter what other people think. As the Gospel says, “fear no one.” The question is “are you with Christ or are you against Him?” Following Christ is what gives us life. Nothing else in the end can give it or take it away.
